Marmee, I've got cabbage in the ground, plus I plan to put in some beets in the next day or two. Thanks for reading and commenting. I hope you have a wonderfully abundant harvest!

Susy, I love reading Eliot Coleman. Matter of fact, I think I'll pull a book or two of his off of my shelves tonight and go through them. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

I planted some of the Gourmet Baby Greens a few weeks ago and have high hopes for salads well into November. One thing we have to remember is that they'll grow a little slower in the fall because of the lower temps and the shorter day lengths. I notice that it takes quite a bit longer for things to mature and grow to a harvestable size. Eliot Coleman has great tips for when to plant fall crops for us cold season gardening in his winter gardening books.
